Pastoral Transition

This page will be continually updated as our church navigates through this period of transition.

A Letter from Dr. Bowser read on Sunday, January 19th to the Congregation

On Tuesday evening, January 14th, the Church Board met to continue the Pastoral Search Process.  The Church Board began the process of considering resumes that match the Pastoral Profile. We will meet again on January 28th. Please continue to prayerfully consider God’s will as we move through the process.

Pastoral Profile

On Sunday, November 17th, at 6:00 PM, our congregation convened for a meeting presided over by our District Superintendent, Dr. Bowser. During this gathering, Dr. Bowser presented the survey results that had been distributed to the congregation in October. The board used these findings to craft a profile for our potential new pastor. You can view the Pastoral Profile here.

We extend a warm welcome to our interim Pastor and his wife. Pastor George & Janet Fry

Pastor George was ordained in April of 2003. From 2003 to 2014 he was a bi-vocational pastor of the Damascus Church of the Nazarene. In March of 2014 he became the pastor of the Gettysburg Church of the Nazarene. At that time, he retired from Montgomery County Public Schools after being a special education teacher for 34 years. He married Janet, his wife, in 1982. They have 3 children and 8 grandchildren. He enjoys golfing and playing the banjo. Together they like to ride bikes and walk their dog Casey. His favorite Bible verse is Ephesians 5:10; “and find out what pleases the Lord” (NIV).
