A message from Pastor Dan West
"The boundary lines have fallen for me in
pleasant places." - Psalm 16:6a
Let me start out by saying, "Thank you!"
Patience, the girls, and I could not imagine a better beginning to our time in this great community. We have been greeted so warmly, with open arms and open hearts. We truly feel that we are living out the many prayers that have been prayed for us and for the church. We truly thank you, and we already love you!
I can't think of a better verse that expresses how we feel. Our boundary has fallen in pleasant places. That is no small matter. God, in His infinite wisdom, has given guidance and direction to you and to us, and we have the privilege of seeing the fruit of obedience. He is faithful, and it is times like these when we stop and ask ourselves, "Why do I ever doubt Him?" If we let him, he will continually lead us to "lie down in green pastures." (Psalm 23:2) He will defeat our doubts, and we will see His abundance.
This is the fun part. We have the chance to get to know each other and welcome this wonderful change into our lives. We are thankful for this time, but we know that we are here for a purpose. As we get to know you, my prayer is that God begins speaking to me, and to you, about direction. We are to discover who we are and be mindful to ask who we must become. When we consider the pleasant boundaries we have, it is not for our comfort. It requires responsibility.
A journey is always exciting in the beginning. I cannot wait to see what is in store for us in the days, months, and years ahead. I am thankful for "pleasant places," and pray that God would "enlarge our territory" (1 Chronicles 4:10 - the prayer of Jabez).
Blessings to you as you enjoy your Summer!
